My Body, My Instrument, My Sound
with Oonagh O'Sullivan
Explore how to create more space for resonance, sound & creativity within your most intimate instrument - your own body! How can we tune our own resonance and impact the sounds we share through our voices? By softening into relationship with our cells, tissues, fascia, blood, bones & organs. In this explorative somatic & sound journey, we will awaken the resonant body and invite ourselves to be sung from the inside out! We will learn how to welcome a more embodied sound in any voice work we do, whether we are healers, singers, speakers, teachers, or purely curious minds! Anyone with a body and voice is welcome, no previous experience required.
About Oonagh
Oonagh is a ritualist, grief-tender, singer, embodiment guide & festival maker. She blends her deep love for the human heart & body as part of the web of life, with song as prayer to create spaces of remembrance, connection, expression & belonging. Oonagh has been teaching yoga & somatic practices and holding tender space through classes, workshops, trainings & retreats for 7 years.
She holds an MA in Ritual Chant & Song where she specialised in the use of ritual song in Irish pre-Christian grief ceremonies called Caoineadh / keening. Her interest lies on how to contemporise these ancient ways through our bodies and voices during this crisis of unprecedented individual and collective grief. Oonagh loves creating communal spaces if embodied artistic exploration for deep co-regulation and creative alchemy. You can listen to her live kirtan album here.
