Are you ready for new beginnings?
Is your life boring, mundane and lacking vitality, spirituality, meaning and purpose?
Then this day is for you.
Is there someone in your life that is not living life to the full?
Is there someone you know that needs the nudge to go outside themselves to be transformed?
Then this day is your innovative Christmas gift to them.
During this day, yes we will focus on the goddess and holy woman, Brigit, however our objective and meaning for you is much much more transformative.
We already have some very familiar perspectives on Brigit, such as the Brigit Cross, the Brat which opened out into the Curragh etc. but in this day today we shall zone in on little known perspectives on her.
We shall compose and sing chants dedicated to her memory. We shall share little known stories and myths around her that you may not have known until now. We shall create a ritual that demystifies her memory and makes her a real presence in our lives.
Furthermore, this is YOUR day. So there will be opportunities for you so share your story.
There is no more perfect a space to share all of this that in Ashley Park, Nenagh, not only a nature sanctuary by the magical lake but with a garden that is Paradise. (The Persian word for garden also means Paradise so come and walk in Paradise for a few hours today.)
This time of year, February, Imbolc, the beginning of Spring, the emergence from the dark interior season of winter, can feel like being in a deep freeze; we are preserved and frozen now waiting to emerge as we once were before the process of preservation. But it is ourselves that must do the de-frosting.
So come now to unthaw, to shed the frozen ice of ennui and sameness and to restore what Hildegard von Bingen would term viriditas – or greening yet again into our lives.
Just six days before this event, on February 3rd, in the Christian tradition, we celebrate the feast of Blaise, the patron saint of throats. During our time together, we shall honour this patron of the voice and we shall bless our throats before we take our leave of each other. To guaranteed wisdom and discernment of speech over the coming year.
